How to Wear the HKFO
Step 1: Sit Properly
Sit on a stable chair or wheelchair.
Keep both legs straight.
Step 2: Place the Foot
Position the foot correctly inside the foot plate.
Fasten foot straps securely.
Step 3: Secure the Leg Straps
Tighten ankle straps first.
Then secure calf straps.
Fasten knee straps comfortably.
Step 4: Fix Hip Belt
Wrap pelvic belt around waist.
Tighten firmly but comfortably.
Step 5: Lock the Knee Joint
Engage knee lock if prescribed by doctor or therapist.
Step 6: Stand with Assistance
Use walker or parallel bars initially.
Stand slowly with therapist support.
